What is Clinical EFT?

Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), commonly referred to as "tapping," is an integrative psychophysiological approach that is resulting in increasing scientific interest for its effectiveness in mental health and emotional well-being. EFT incorporates elements of cognitive therapy and exposure therapy, combining them with acupressure, in the form of fingertip tapping on specific acupressure points. Recent advancements in EFT research have expanded our understanding of its mechanisms and efficacy.

There are a range of concepts in Clinical EFT that play a role in core techniques or inform the process, and these are all covered in the Manual. Case examples, session outlines and visual graphics are included to illustrate the key concepts and core techniques in Clinical EFT.

Adjustments that have merged from clinical practice are included, and the version used for children under 10 years.
