Tapping in the Classroom is an Online Training – it is designed to give teachers, school guidance counsellors and psychologists an effective tool to help children overcome stress, anxiety and behavioural challenges. The program is based on EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), commonly referred to as ‘Tapping’. This modality is often referred to as a combination of ancient acupressure and modern psychology. EFT or Tapping is a Stress Management tool, and is self-applied. EFT has been researched in more than 10 countries, by more than 60 investigators, whose results have been published in more than 100 papers.

EFT or Tapping is a stress management tool. It is self-applied and easy to learn and use. Many studies have examined the effects of EFT on test-taking anxiety and depression in students (Church, De Asis, Brooks, 2012), teacher burnout (Reynolds & Walden 2010), anxiety (Andrade & Feinstein 2004), presentation anxiety (Boath et al 2012A) and post-traumatic stress disorder (Karatzias et al 2011). Recent Australian research has shown EFT to significantly reduce fear of failure in 15 year old students, and improve their self-perceived difficulties (Stapleton et al., 2017). The combination of a short-term intervention, easy to master technique, and immediate results contribute to the hypothesis that EFT may be an effective tool for students in classroom situations.
This EFT teacher training is 100% online, and self-paced.
This 8-module (equals 16 hours) training will give teachers the skills to help students: • Recognise and understand their emotions. • Discover how to become confident, resilient and adaptable. • Improve well-being, self-esteem and academic success. Based on clinical trial research led by Dr Peta Stapleton, this course is self directed and presented by Dr Stapleton. It is designed to be understood and applied by anyone new to EFT or Tapping. Online support continues after the training, in a dedicated forum space. The training is a combination of movie files where Dr Peta teaches the lessons, extra videos to watch and learn, practical exercises to do during the training and in between modules, and handouts and sample letters for parents/principals. We have included example tapping scripts for common concerns and the latest research in a comprehensive training manual.

Dr Peta Stapleton
Dr Peta Stapleton has 22 years experience as a registered Clinical & Health Psychologist in the State of Queensland, Australia and has completed a Bachelor of Arts, Postgraduate Diploma of Professional Psychology and Doctor of Philosophy. Peta held academic positions at Griffith University for 14 years, teaching and coordinating psychological research trials into new therapies in the area of obesity and weight management and is now Associate Professor in Psychology at Bond University, Queensland, Australia. Peta regularly contributes to the academic field with publications in the areas of nursing, morale, communication, psychological interventions and eating disorders. She regularly reviews for academic journals and offers supervision for new and existing Psychologists as well as students. Peta’s most significant contribution in her research life has been to lead world-first randomized clinical trials investigating the effectiveness of a new and innovative treatment option for food cravings in overweight and obese adults (EFT, Emotional Freedom Techniques or ‘Tapping’), major depression, smoking and for academic stress ad self esteem concerns in teens.
